Much About Nothing

The Lord has been teaching me some interesting things lately, but I need some time to work them all out in my mind....so in the interest of keeping the blog updated, here are some random facts (well facts might be too strong a word) and a couple of pictures of my boys. If you are here looking for some spiritual food, scroll down a few posts..........

~Finally, Christy Lee Cook (I'm not sure how you spell her name) has gotten the boot. I mean that in the nicest possible way of course. She is a pretty girl, but she has mistaken whining for singing one too many times. On the other hand, I completely LOVE Brooke White and David Cook - when they get voted off, I stop viewing. I feel somewhat sorry for David Archuleta - always looks like a deer in the headlights....just my opinion.

~Went to Sam's Club last night. Took the hubs - big mistake. We came home with $239.36 worth of things to stuff our faces with. Two of my favorites are the 15 lb bag of M&M's and the 25 lb bag of Hershey kisses. Okay that might be an exaggeration of how much the bags actually weigh, but it is no exaggeration as to how much weight I will gain after eating said candy. Unfortunate to say the least.

~I have been outside all day today. I love this time of year when it is cool in the mornings and hot in the evenings. I really hope Jesus comes back really soon because my skin is probably not gonna hold out much longer. I figure when I am 40 people will assume I am 60 (that is if I don't die of melanoma before the age of 40). I really need to use sunscreen, but I don't -- I just don't.

~Instead of college, I wish I had gone to aesthetician school. It is cheaper, it only lasts a year, and I could perform much needed beauty treatments on myself.

~Have I mentioned that I have foot issues? I have spent years squeezing my size 7's into size 6 and a halfs and now the time has come to pay the piper (or the podiatrist) UGH!

~I dreamed about snakes ALL night last night. If you don't already know about my fear of snakes, go back a few posts to read all about it. It's too painful to re-type. I have this dream where I go out in my yard and there are snakes everywhere I step. Do you think my fear goes back to the garden? I am thinking I might end up in one of those programs - you know the ones where they put you in that white suit and restrain your arms and legs?

~This morning I had 15 errands to run. For the 9 years that we have been married, hubs and I have had the same routine in the mornings. When he works dayshift, he gets up at 5:40 and when he gets out of the bathroom at 6:15, he wakes me up so I can get into the shower. This morning he came into our bedroom (and woke me up from a dream where he had bought a snake and placed it in a fish tank - pray for me) at 6:50 and said, "Are you just gonna sleep until its time to get Lake up?" Huh? What? Who are you and what have you done with the husband who knows the routine? When I asked him why he didn't wake me up he said, "I had my mind on something else." Yep, we will probably both be in a program before its all said and done.

~I think I am up to about 50 Hershey kisses today. Might be a record - anybody got a Guinness Book handy?

~Has anyone else noticed that Nick and Disney shows frequently use the phrase "What the....?" We all know some words that would naturally follow that, yet they insist on putting that phrase in cartoons. What is up with that?

~I am sick of seeing/hearing Hillary (and Bill) and Obama. I wish the election were over already. Sadly, I predict that we are about to see Obamanation win.............Better yet, let's all pray that Jesus comes back before the next Presidential Inauguration.

~This week has been TCAPS for Lake. That is the TN version of achievement tests. They are a big deal. Much bigger than anything we ever did in school. The other night, Kaden told Lake he had to go to bed early because he had to take 'handicaps' the next day.

~A haiku for today (I know it doesn't exactly follow the Haiku rules, but its my blog):
My father in law owns a car wash.
We live right beside it. My car is filthy.
I am lazy.

~And here is yet another Haiku that also does not follow the rules (again - its my blog):
My house is dirty,
I play outside until dark,
I need a maid.

~I might have a career in Haiku writing.

~My sister's husbands niece was on Jerry Springer one time. Its all fake in case you were wondering.

Time to go back outside and play ball with the family (because one can never get enough fresh air, ya know). 'Tis T-ball season, fa-la-la-la-la-la-la. But first I need to stop by the Hershey kiss bag and eat #51.

Wow - you have all kinds of things to say today! I have to respectfully tell you that you are sadly mistaken on one thing about Idol. I can't stand David Cook! I think he thinks far too highly of himself. I am sad because I liked Michael Johns and he is gone. :(
I'm sick of this election too - I think Christ coming back before it is a grand idea!
You asked if I had posted a BBQ Beef recipe and I haven't. I do have good recipe for it, but it's not a slow cooker recipe. If you want it I'll get it to you - just let me know.

I agree with you about Christy Lee- I didn't like that she argues with the judges when they gave their opinions. Just listen and don't argue with them.
I'd take Obama anyday over Hillary- I don't like either of them, but I can't stand the thought of Hillary winning the Presidency.

I hear you on the cartoon thing, they are ALWAYS saying that. My kids have not started repeating but when they do I need to be prepared. Lord, help me!

I have a good name for obama that I heard on the radio...

the hershey kisses are cracking me up...I just couldn't have bought the bag...It just would be pounds waiting to happen.....I think we are going to attempt some Sam's grocery shopping this time...Good for the budget...=)

I am a David Cook fan too...He did awesome this week...He shed a tear, and then so did I...;)

I don't use sunscreen either...I know I will regret it one day..but a tan, sun, it all makes me happy...I have been outside all day too...LOVING THIS WEATHER...

Your new house is beautiful, BTW...

On the AI topic, I agree it was time for Kristi Lee to go. I too adore Brooke White but I'm for David Cook all the way. I think he's great and should definitely win. As for TCAPS, I am a teacher and we finished up yesterday after a long week of it. Hallelujah!

A life in the day of Bethannne..you could make picking lint off a sweater appealing and exciting! What's up with the snakes????

Hey Sheila! Thanks for visiting my blog! Maybe you can help me understand (if you check back here) why TCAPS are such a HUGE deal. I dont get it.

Mari,
Thanks anyway. I am going to attempt to make it in the crack pot. I will let you know if its edible.

Cassie,
If it were me, I would never have bought that humongous bag of kisses - but the hubs loves his chocolate and his ice cream and all other food too much to say no. He has a faster metabolism than I do. Looks like you and I will be the oldest looking girls at the class reunion, huh? Oh well, we will have lots of Vitamin C & D (dont you get those from the sun?).

Luann,
I have been terrified of snakes ALL my life. Not just terrified, there is not a word that describes my fear of them.

I'm with you on Kristy Lee Cook! Her smart mouth was getting on my nerves....even if Simon is mean or makes strange comments you don't really understand, don't call him a butt on national t.v.!!! My goodness...

Can I just tell you that you crack me up! You do, and I really needed a good laugh today...so Thanks!

Yes, I remember the Jerry Springer episode, even though I was young. I still think about that at random times too, its so funny you brought that up.

I am so proud to have an Aunt who supports David Cook. His talent far outdoes his competition. If he gets voted off... American Idol is rigged.

OMG!! YOU ARE SO FUNNY! IM WITH YA' GIRLFRIEND ON THE SNANKES, SPIDERS, AND ANY KIND OF BUG!!!

We went to Sams Monday night, the shop my husband works in, has like a little 5-dime store full of snacks that my husband sells, and actually does a really really good profit on it, so monday night, and $515.00 later we left...When it's stuff for home, it always over $200.00 for stuff for us to feed our faces with...I wish Sam's would just close up, maybe I would loose some weight...

The election...SICK OF IT, all out T.V's @ work are either CNN or Fox News, Hate it, Tired of hearing about it..Im with ya..I hope Jesus comes back before...IM READY TO GO!!! I probably won't vote, cause Im not a fan of none of them...Don't like who they are, and what they stand for, on top of I think they are all LIAR'S!!!

So, that's my ranting for the day...EAT lot's of Kisses for me, I love them too!!!

Such a fun post--adorable pics of your kiddos. I am making all the Mother's Day/Father's Day treats that we give out at church and this year they will be filled with m&m's and mint patties. We purchased the gigantic Sam's bags and they are sitting in my kitchen. Unfortunately, I will have to reimburse the church for half the peanut m&m bag before I get the project done :-)

I have the same problem when I take my husband to Sam's. Only we bring home big tubs of Bubble Gum and mini candy bars.

LOVE the pictures, so cute!

Totally agree about Kristy Lee Cook...glad to see her go.

And that is all...

I have a definite weakness for m&m's and also greatly fear snakes.

I just love it when you do these random posts. Your mind is a fun thing to watch!!

We love David Cook and Brooke White over here too. My husband really likes David Archuleta's voice, and I do too, but he's fairly predictable. Jason Castro is fun, too, he always makes me laugh.

Thanks for the smiles today, Bethanne!

You are a hoot! Have I told you that already? I think if we met in person you might be the first person who could make me pee my pants!

It took me a bit to figure it out but you were talking about AI. I don't get or see that here in Japan. Sometimes I wish I did though as much as people talk about it and all.

Um, the Japanese Haiku police might come get you. I promise it wasn't me that told them about your great Haiku's! I don't know how they heard about it all the way over here in Japan! :)

I am ashamed to admit that I am SO BAD about saying "What the?" It's a bad habit and Super B follows suit and says it. I don't really think about it until he says something like that in public and I realize how bad it sounds!

I am a fellow snake-a-phobe. We went to the Atlanta Zoo over the weekend and it was SO HARD for me to go in the House of Reptiles. Super B was fascinated and I was petrified!!

Adorable pics. :)
