Some Interesting Quotes

Isnt it funny that by the miracle of modern technology, I can be partying at Disney while still rockin' the blog at home? I have tried to come up with a few things to post while I am gone.....here are a few quotes that I found interesting.

Here, then, is the real problem of our negligence. We fail in our duty to study God's Word not so much because it is difficult to understand, not so much because it is dull and boring, but because it is work. Our problem is not a lack of intelligence or a lack of passion. Our problem is that we are lazy. R. C. Sproul

A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.C. S. Lewis

I believe in Christianity as I believe in the rising sun; not because I see it, but by it I can see all else.C. S. Lewis

I am sure that never was a people, who had more reason to acknowledge a Divine interposition in their affairs, than those of the United States; and I should be pained to believe that they have forgotten that agency, which was so often manifested during our Revolution, or that they failed to consider the omnipotence of that God who is alone able to protect them.George Washington

Trials are medicines which our gracious and wise Physician prescribes because we need them; and he proportions the frequency and weight of them to what the case requires. Let us trust his skill and thank him for his prescription.Isaac Newton

Our brains are no longer conditioned for reverence and awe. We cannot imagine a Second Coming that would not be cut down to size by the televised evening news, or a Last Judgment not subject to pages of holier-than-thou second-guessing in The New York Review of Books.John Updike

God made us to run in the field of Himself. CS Lewis

CS Lewis is a favorite of mine, but here's a quote I love from George MacDonald, "When the storm is upon us it seems as if there never could be any sunshine, but our hopelessness does not keep back the sun when his hour to shine is come."
I have a lot to say about this quote, but since I don't have a blog, I will just have to contain myself. Debbie
