Snow Day!

It snowed today and I thought about posting a picture of what we call a 'snow event' here in East Tennessee, but I figured you northerners would just make fun of us, so I didn't. Lake actually got out of school today. He goes to a city school and that NEVER happens. We only have about an inch of snow, but they say more is on the way for this evening. Tonight is the last night of the women's class I am leading (I start leading Breaking Free next Wednesday). I really wish I felt better - my head is cloudy and my voice sounds very much like a man - yikes! Anyway, we will see if the rest of the winter weather gets here within a few hours. If the weather is bad tonight, they will probably cancel church. The boys will be sad because they have worked hard on their AWANAS verses.
I used to make fun of my mom when she said she hated cold weather. I loved to ski and sled - I thought she was such a party pooper for saying she hated winter. The older I get, the more I understand her aversion to winter. The only thing I like about winter is that it is much shorter than it used to be. Our winters only last really for about 4 1/2 months. When I was little, winter was long and we had some big snows. I hate to sound like I'm complaining, but I would love to see some Spring time right about now. I really don't see the point in the whole month of February. I feel sure that at the end of July when we are at DISNEY WORLD standing in long lines in the 100 degree heat, I will be wishing for some of this 30 degree weather, but right now I am looking forward to some tulips, daffodills, and most importantly SOME SUN!!!!

I won't make fun of you. It's all what you're used to.
We've actually not had too much going on weather wise for about a week now!
Feel better.

30 degrees? Would you believe that we think it's warm here when it gets up into the 30s? It has been below 20, I think, for the last month or so. They say this is one of the worst winters in MI in a loooong time. I am SO happy that we were able to be here to experience it. (And I'm not bothered at ALL when people in CO tell me it's sunny and in the 50s!)

Anyway...I'm happy to hear that don't have the flu, but hope that you get over whatever is making you feel yucky soon!!

What is it with winter in ETN?? I feel as if its shrinking. We used to have so much fun and ALWAYS got lots of snow days. My kids go to a city system too, and although they got today (Wha-hoo!)they really don't even know what its like to have a real SNOW day.
I guess this beats 34 degrees and rain!!
My group finished Stepping Up and we are headed for Discerning the Voice of GOD! (is this the one your notes are from?) Although I heard her speak at Deeper Still, this will be my first P.S. study. I am so excited!....Breaking Free WOW I am sure that will be challenging to lead. I will pray for you.

I hope you feel better soon, and here's hoping for another "snow" day tomorrow!!

I won't make fun of you - when you aren't used to it, an inch is a lot! Hope you feel better soon!

I found you on the LPM blog and I thought I would pop in and say hello! I am so glad I did, your little guys are soooo cute! I hope you are feeling better, that sickness seems to be everywhere and it hangs on way too long (kind of like winter!).

Blessings~~Kelley

Amen, sister. I can't wait for pool days and sundresses and sandals. All the layering of clothes for the kids has got to go. And I am a wimp in the cold, which I think happens to include anything in the 50's or below.
