Some Stuff

It's time again for a new LPM memory verse. This time I picked Zephaniah 3:17:

The LORD your God is with you,
He is MIGHTY TO SAVE.
He will take GREAT DELIGHT IN YOU,
He will quiet you with his LOVE,
He will REJOICE OVER YOU with singing."

Why did I pick this particular verse?

Because I like it.

Schools let out at lunch time today because of an ice/snow storm that is moving in (there is ice in Knoxville which is just down the road from us). The problem is that the thermometer on my car says it's 40 degrees -- this may come as a chock to some, but this might not turn out to be much of a snow "event". The forecasters here are not necessarily known for their accuracy (but don't tell them that - they call themselves the "Accurate Storm Team"..........too bad they are not so accurate most of the time. I will say that there is some sleet coming down as I type........I did stop by the store for some cream in case it actually does snow. My kids would revolt if there was snow without making snow cream.

Yesterday, after church, I went to Kaden's bedroom to take a nap (which never happens here and I do mena never) and Lake came and rested with me. After we woke up, Kaden came in, jumped on the bed and hugged Lake's leg.....then he looked at me and said, "What? You never saw a guy hug a chicken leg before????" He also asked me if I thought it would be funny if he had some shorts that said "I heart Las Vegas" on the back........He has been singing really loud and asking "How'd ya like that, Simon?" Or "Was that good to you, Dog?" .........I really have no explanation for where he gets these things. Really I don't. BUT, I am thinking it might be time to limit American Idol watching around here.

I have been running errands since 7:30 this morning and I am not done (snow or no snow --- just like the mailman - rain, sleet, snow, hail, dark of night......exhaustion). Gotta run now, but will be back soon with lots and lots of fascinating things to say...........(okay, maybe fascinating is too strong a word ;-).

Could it be that little one is more like his Mom than we ever gave him credit to be. Sounds like he has a bit of comeidan in him also. Might want to limit his TV time a bit! I don't know if he could get this off the cartoons he watches.

Oh those boys...they are f-u-n-n-y!
We were out last Tuesday for rain. Uh huh rain. Kinda missed the ice prediction just a bit. But, we did get snow the next day and this weekend was in the 60's. Whatevah.

Hope you are surviving the day. I'd love to run around with you!
Hugs,
Fran

I must admit that being the germophobe that you are, I was surprised to learn that you make snow cream! ;)

By the way, you do know that part of that accurate storm team is my neighbor? There is another 8 y/o boy in the neighborhood who never fails to knock on his door and hold him accountable to his inaccuracies!

Have you moved into the new house yet or did I miss something? Just curious.

BTW, what is snow cream? Us northerners don't get out much. I miss SO much being on the wrong side of the Mason Dixon.

Yes, Angela I did know that you are neighbors with the Inaccurate Head Meterologist.....have you invited him to our church????

Ummm, Greg, we are not in the new house yet....but close. I cannot (repeat CANNOT) believe that you northerners do not make snow cream!!!! You have so much snow......you could make snow cream everyday!!! Snow cream is when you gather fresh snow (not the first snow - cause my mom says you have to let the impurities clear out of the atmosphere -- whatever) but you get a pot full of snow and add cream (evaporated milk) and vanilla or buttercream flavoring and sugar.........mix it all together and you have snow cream!!! You have to try it!!!! Mayfield (a TN dairy supplier) even makes snow cream ice cream that is sold in stores here......you really should come south so we can get you some snow cream and REAL sweet tea!!!!

How funny! We too have a ongoing family date with American Idol! So now my 6 year old sets up her Barbie dolls to be Paula, Simon and Randy to be the judges and she goes before them as sings "I am Little Teapot", "Twinkle,Twinkle,Little Star" and "Happy Birthday To You". Of course she always makes it through to not Hollywood, but Chuckie Cheese! LOL....
Bethanne, I feel ya girl!! :)

I've not heard a quote from the book of Zephaniah in a long time. You have inspired me to re-read those three chapters...thanks.

Accurate Storm Team...right.

I can just see the spare tire being inflated around my waist!

How does anyone stay thin in the South?

Eddie said...

Oh Greg! Who said anything about thin? Thin is for wimps, take a look at my picture on my blog and you will see what I mean.

BethAnne said...

Greg, Greg, Greg.......thin is not everything.....only boring people are skinny! In the South, everything we do revolves around food.......no such thing as thin unless it is a natural trait.

one word...hilarious! i love your family!

Well, I definitely don't look boring. I guess I was boring 30 lbs. ago. If I don't watch myself I'll blossom into the life of the party.
