Conversations With a Six Year Old

When my son got in the car after school today, I asked him (as always) how his day went. The conversation went like this:

Mom: Hey honey, how was school today?
Lake: Great, I got to read my book out loud to the class.
Mom: What book ?
Lake: The book we had to write last week at school.
Mom: Oh, what is the name of your book?
Lake: It's called "I Had A Cat and It Died"
Mom: (laughing inwardly so as not to cause a complex- you know they always blame the mother for things like that) How does the story go?
Lake: Uh-hum....."I Had a Cat and It Died" By Lake. I had a cat and it died. It was sad. The End.

I so wish I had written down all the funny things my boys have said over their little lifetimes. I am afraid, though, that there wouldn't be enough trees to make paper to write them all down on. Kids say and do such funny things and most everything they do is out of innocence. It's no wonder Jesus loved to be around children.

Hey...that's what your blog is for, right? So you have a permanent place to record all the great things that your kids say and do. I know I enjoy reading about them!
