Birthday and A Verse

My oldest baby turned seven today. Well, actually he doesn't officially turn 7 until 11:14 pm since that was the time he was born. Seven years ago I had no idea what motherhood would be like. I couldn't see past the hours and hours of labour, the emergency C-section, or my swollen legs. Funny how things are never what you expect. Lake is a joy to me. Funny and sweet (can be a handful at times too). He loves the Lord and he loves our family. He loves to make "crafts" yet he is all boy. Even though I was 27 when he was born, I kind of feel like we are growing up together. I am learning - he is learning. There is a lot for both of us to learn in this life. Your first born holds a special place in your heart. I pray that he stays innocent as long as humanly possible. I pray that the world doesn't creep in to his heart and steal what rightfully belongs to Jesus. I pray that he will grow up to be a mighty man of God. There are so many things I pray for him to become, but the main thing I pray is that he will be a lover of the Lord for all his life.

I could go on and on, but anyone who is a parent (especially a mommy) knows what I am saying, feeling. We could all write these same words about our babies no matter how big or how old they are.

Several of you commented on the verses I posted from the Message. Here are my blog title verses as written in the Message.....thought they were interesting.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
And then this: We can tell you with complete confidence—we have the Master's word on it—that when the Master comes again to get us, those of us who are still alive will not get a jump on the dead and leave them behind. In actual fact, they'll be ahead of us. The Master himself will give the command. Archangel thunder! God's trumpet blast! He'll come down from heaven and the dead in Christ will rise—they'll go first. Then the rest of us who are still alive at the time will be caught up with them into the clouds to meet the Master. Oh, we'll be walking on air! And then there will be one huge family reunion with the Master. So reassure one another with these words.
